The US Small Business Administration (SBA) has an informative web page about the SBIR and STTR programs. The SBA web site provides links to each agency's SBIR and STTR topic solicitations.
The National Science Foundation sponsored SBIR World web page lists topic solicitation dates, upcoming conferences and newsletter information.
The SBIR Resource Center web page contains a variety of information about proposal preparation and writing.
You can find past award winner's abstracts for each agency on the SBA tech-net site. This will help you understand the types of projects that an agency is funding.
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's offers an SBIR/STTR topic alerting service. This service informs subscribers when agencies place new solicitations on the web. It also provides background information about SBIRs and STTRs, proposal writing tips, and other useful program information.
If a Department of Defense (DOD) topic interests you, contact the nearest Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC). The DTIC provides scientific and technical information concerning research and development projects funded by DOD agencies. Use this information to prepare better proposals. NTTC offers various products and services that enable American businesses to find technologies, facilities and world-class researchers within the federal labs and agencies with which they can partner.
